| Samsung Engineering remains committed to quality management and innovation as means to ensure maximum client satisfaction and secure a foundation for sustainable growth. From a structured core quality management system that adheres to the BPM (Business Process Management) school of thought to frequent measuring and improving of critical process management indices and control points and regular quality trainings designed to promote self-initiated quality management in its employees and partners, Samsung Engineering knows no bounds when it comes to quality improvements and innovations. In addition, the company takes PSI (Plant Satisfaction Index) surveys from domestic and international EPC services clients to learn directly from the source which areas of its services need improvement. In 2008, these quality management efforts resulted in the company winning a Quality Excellence Award from TASNEE Ethylene Plant project owner, who commended Samsung Engineering for completing the project early and greatly improving the general quality of the work site. |
| HSE Capacities for Future Values |
| HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) is the first and foremost element in the Samsung Engineering corporate culture, and one of the key tools employed by the company to ensure client satisfaction and accident-free project execution is a sophisticated HSE program capable of simulating potential HSE hazards for each phase of a given project. This simulation program is so effective at identifying potential hazards that, in 2008, the company set a record for consecutive accident-free man-hours at the Tasnee ethylene plant site in Saudi Arabia and even received an HSE Champion Award from UAE’s Borouge and many other recognitions from clients all over the world. Samsung Engineering is also offering its employees a specialized HSE curriculum developed in conjunction with OSHA, actively pursuing construction of a safety training center in Saudi Arabia, and aggressively expanding an HSE management leadership program with strategic partners across the globe in an effort to further advance its global HSE capacity.

| A Refined Q/HSE Management Methodology |
| Samsung Engineering utilizes the TAP (Turnover Auto Package) system in all of its projects to ensure systematic inspection control, planning, stage-specific quality control, and punch control of individual test packages for complete construction quality control throughout the entire project from start to finish. In addition, Samsung Engineering utilizes AMS (After-Service Management System) to assure prompt and continuing project quality assurance services long after a project’s completion. Along with TAP and AMS, the company also focuses on various HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) activities in each project stage to realize pleasant and safe work environments for its employees, achieve accident-free records, and achieve complete client satisfaction.
